Monica Jiang is a visual artist and photographer currently based in London.
Her photography journey began with the accidental discovery of her father’s film camera during childhood. From the moment she pressed the shutter, photography became a part of her everyday life—a way of connecting with the world around her.
Working primarily with film, Monica documents people and places encountered during her travels. She captures fleeting yet genuine moments of connection between herself, strangers, and unfamiliar cities. For her, photography is more than documentation; it is a way of navigating movement, observing, and reflecting on cultural identity and the sense of belonging.
Her work revolves around themes of travel, memory, and selfhood. Through images and handwritten notes, she traces her path across countries over the past decade, preserving intimate fragments of time and place.
